Next time you're outside in warm
weather, take a moment to have a look at the ground around your feet
- you might start to see all kinds of bugs crawling around!
This is a simple but fun activity making
cork-print designs which make lovely cards or envelopes. An easy project to set
up for one or many children, so makes a great simple creative birthday party
activity.
You will need:
* Paper to print on – any will work, but if you
want to make cards, slightly thicker paper or cardstock works well. You can also
print envelopes if you want to!
* Paper plates
* Corks
* Paint – we used acrylic
* Plastic Fork, Chopstick or Thin paintbrush
- Pour
a little paint onto each paper plate, keeping one plate for each color.
- Add
a cork to each plate
- Used
the cork to print circles onto your paper in whatever design you choose –
we did caterpillars and lady bugs!
- Use
the fork/chopstick/paintbrush to create finer lines, for example for the
legs of the caterpillar or the spots on the lady bug.
- For
envelopes, remember to just print something small in the top right corner so
you leave space for the addresses!
